Musculoskeletal Injuries

Musculoskeletal disorders are injuries or disorders of the muscles, tendons, joints and cartilage. Commonly known as sprains and strains, these often result from trauma, overuse or repetitive movements and may lead to aches and pains which could affect sports, occupational and daily activities.

At The Physio Factory we make use of various manual and electrotherapy techniques accompanied by customised exercise programmes to help you overcome this pain and return to your favourite activities as soon as possible.

Sport-Massage

Sports Massage

Sports massage helps in the prevention and healing of muscle injuries for people who engage in regular physical activity. It targets the soft tissues to help people with injuries, muscle pain or restricted range of motion. It can be done before or after exercise to help enhance performance and muscle recovery.

Neck and Back Pain

The spine is a remarkably well-engineered structure of interconnecting bones, joints, nerves, ligaments and muscles all working together to provide support, strength, and flexibility. This however also leaves the neck and back susceptible to injury and pain. Physiotherapy is one of the most effective first lines of conservative treatment for mechanical neck and back pain.

Our therapists are equipped to identify the cause of your neck and back pain by assessing your quality of movement, posture and mobility. Treatment would typically involve a combination of manual therapy/acupuncture and exercise as part of your rehabilitation programme.

Sports Injuries

Sports injuries are common, but can get frustrating if it means you are unable to train at your max for a period of time. During your sessions, we will walk you through all the stages of rehabilitation from initial recovery to full function and return to sport. Following a holistic, tailor made programme will help you get back to your sport faster and with less chance of re-injury.

Orthopaedic Rehabilitation

Orthopaedic rehabilitation is the process of recovery following acute or chronic injury to the skeletal system. This includes sprains, fractures, joint reconstruction or replacement. These conditions oftenrequire a period of immobilisation in order to allow the bones to heal, but immobilisation leads to weakness and tightness of the tissues surrounding the immobilised joint. Through a holistic and tailor made programme, at The Physio Factory we will help you restore mobility and function by strengthening weakened and disused muscles and rebuilding normal movement patterns and habits.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine. It is widely used for its pain relief, strengthening and healing effects. The procedure involves the insertion of very fine needles (sterilised and single-use) into strategic places on the body, resulting in the release of the body’s natural chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.

Home Visits

If your condition doesn’t allow you to attend our clinic, or you require the session to be held in your own home environment, we also offer the service of home visits. Contact us to discuss the best possible options and we will try our best to accommodate your needs.
